In 2022, Porsche Cars North America (PCNA) began expansion of its headquarters in Atlanta. During the process, the leader in luxury, high-performance vehicles saw the opportunity to make progress on reducing its Scope 2 Emissions by incorporating renewable energy onto its campus.
PCNA selected Cherry Street Energy as its renewable power provider, allowing the company to save money in construction and continuing maintenance costs, and make big progress toward its carbon-neutral goal with low lift.
Once selected, Cherry Street was brought in during the pre-construction process to begin work.
World-Class Solar Power Systems for a World-Class Automotive Manufacturer
Cherry Street's solar program with PCNA consists of:
- A rooftop solar power system
- A parking deck system
- Multiple canopies over walkways and lots
Being brought in during the pre-construction phase of the expansion, Cherry Street was able to help design walkways and canopies that fit PCNA's aesthetic for the facility, resulting in truly one-of-a-kind solar power systems. These systems don't just fit the look and produce energy; they truly function as designed, providing adequate coverage for days when it's raining and for days when there is not a cloud in the sky.
