With a commitment to running a sustainable film studio, Electric Owl Studios incorporates many eco-conscious practices into its operations, such as EV charging stations, a full recycling program, installing energy-efficient technologies, and committing to renewable energy.
With that commitment in mind, Electric Owl selected Cherry Street Energy as its clean energy provider.
The partnership showcases how leading institutions of education can effectively transition to clean energy without compromising operations or budget. By leveraging Cherry Street Energy's expertise and vertically integrated operations, Emory gains access to renewable power through a streamlined, zero-capital expenditure model that delivers immediate environmental impact.
Industry-Leading Solar Power for an Industry-Leading Film Studio
Looking to power 30 percent of operations with renewable power, Electric Owl Studios brought Cherry Street in during the pre-construction phase. This allowed Cherry Street to provide input on ideal roof specifications and interconnection points to help support that goal.
The result is a solar power system comprised of 1,440 panels that meets Electric Owl's commitment. The system cost over $1 million to install and maintain, with Cherry Street taking on that cost instead of the studio.
